You can now apply for Overdraft Protection (ODP) directly through online or mobile banking. It’s fast, secure, and available 24/7 — no branch visit required.
You can apply for Overdraft Protection online if you meet the following criteria: You have an eligible personal chequing account.
You have no active or in-progress Overdraft Protection on the account
You meet the credit and income requirements
How to apply
1. Log in to online banking.
2. You can access the application in 2 ways
Option A:
From your eligible chequing account: My Accounts > Account Details > Overdraft Protection
Option B: Under Products & Services, select Add product. This will direct you to the Add product pages, where you will see Overdraft Protection as one of the options.
3. Confirm your information
You’ll be prompted to verify your contact details and employer address.
4. Complete your application:
5. Review & submit
You’ll see a summary of your choices and must confirm before submitting the application.
Once your application has been submitted, we’ll evaluate your application on the spot and let you know if you qualify for Overdraft Protection.
If your application is successful
Your Overdraft Protection will be applied immediately to your selected account
You’ll receive confirmation within digital banking and by email
If you’re not eligible, you’ll see a declined message. For information on why your application was declined, please visit your branch or call our Contact Centre 1.877.560.0100.
